Sometimes the going will be harder than you can take
and unequal to the returns this task can ever make.
It’s OK to quit.
Now and again despite all your sweat, tears and effort
that thing you persevere at will simply not hit pay-dirt
It’s OK to quit.
That relationship where you had all your hopes pinned
despite your efforts, the one, that you can’t simply mend
It’s OK to quit.
This job you had once wanted and now can barely tolerate
a boss who can’t inspire your growth and can only berate
It’s OK to quit.
The relationship whose affection had once been your main
or conversations that are peppered with disrespect or disdain
It’s OK to quit.
That friendship which had lasted through ups and many downs
now negativity has overtaken and smiles are replaced with frowns
It’s OK to quit.
When all has been exhausted and you have given it your best
and whatever you can do, will never pass that elusive test
It’s OK to quit.
Do all that which your conscience tells you is utmost true
Despite the world insisting that hanging-on is what you do
It’s OK to quit.
Quitting opens up space to spread out brand new wings
to grab onto better opportunity that life sometimes brings
It’s OK to quit.
So, if something that was once desired is now unwanted
Or you strived to your utmost but success was never granted
It’s OK to quit.
Move on for other options, quit deadwood to clear your way
Do what your heart says no matter what others have to say
It IS OK to quit!
