Hi! My name is Punit, and I will be teaching a 12-week course on Non-Duality meditation which is one of the several branches of Yoga. I’ve been doing this work for almost a decade under the guidance of my teacher, and I’d like to share the tools and processes that have transformed my life.
There is a common misconception that the pre-requisite to the spiritual path is to give up all that we cherish and hold dear. This is a false understanding. We don’t have to renounce or make any external changes to realize the fruits of this work. This is going to be an inside(internal) job!
Now you may be asking yourself - why would I want to attend a class like this? That’s a very valid question - I think our society and education system has made us extremely capable of arranging our external environment. But we haven’t been given tools to manage our internal environment, which I believe is the most important aspect of our experience. This has resulted in an acceptance of suffering, without realizing that there is a way out of it. Can you imagine a life without fear, anxiety, or worry? Yes, it is quite possible. It is possible to become the master of our own mind, to be not swayed by what is seen - and like most things in life, it requires energy, attention and effort.
In the class, we’re going to take a look at ourselves in a new light which will reveal to us a path out of all our psychological complexities. We will be studying an ancient yogic text - “Atmabodha” together, which literally translates to “Knowledge of the Self”. This book will give us the necessary tools which when practiced will completely transform our lives.
This class is open to beginner and advanced practitioners. No prior knowledge/practice is necessary to attend. This class has no charge and is free to attend. At the end of course, if you so choose, you will have the option to donate to a non-profit of your choice.
Each class will be 90 minutes long, including a 20-minute guided meditation. The setting will be extremely informal where everyone is encouraged to participate, share and ask questions.
